    Only 64.

His death would be particularly hard for Angus, having also lost his older brother George in October.

    Another Aussie music legend gone.

    R.I.P. Malcolm

    Thanks for your music.

Very hard on the Young family with George departing last month.

Malcolm Young was one of the best rhythm guitarists in the business and a pleasure to listen to, particularly pre (and including) Back In Black.

RIP Malcolm. I am not enjoying this getting old shit at all

Malcom wasn't only a rhythm guitarist, he was their song writer and band leader.
The quiet ones often get overlooked, no wonder with crazy Angus up front.

Fact is, without Malcolm ACDC would have been nothing near to what they became.

Ppl often say that their music was too simplistic and I was very disappointed every time when I was visiting Australia in the 80's to find out many Australians didn't like ACDC.
Well I can tell those snobs that they have no clue about music, because the root of most great music is the blues and that comprises only of 3 chords.

Malcolm turned those 3 chords a bit around and added a steam hammer rhythmic drive, unheard of before.
This sound turns people on, far better than any ecstasy drug shit that today's kids need to get turned on because their music sucks.
Even today when I hear ACDC, especially at unexpected places my mood goes up 10 notches!

And when I heard Malcolm's power drive on their first albums when I was 13, he gave me so much power to step up to my (very strict) Dad and say: "Buy me an electric guitar!" and to my surprise he did !
However needed I amp for that, so it would have been Malcolm who motivated me to get serious with electronics and build one.

There is no band like ACDC that makes you want to play guitar so much and try to get that great sound.
No band that makes you want to stop what you are doing ... and ROCK !

ACDC was THE greatest ever to come from Australia (yeah they probably where dual citizens).

They didn't just create a few pop songs, they re-defined music.
I just wish more Australians would give them the credit they deserve that the rest of the world gives them.

RIP Malcolm, you where the foundation of it all !
