Certainly NOT for a minute (or even a nanosecond) defending anything he has done.
Its is interesting looking back over his life, born to a single 16 year old mother, booted from extended relatives to institutions, escaped from one to be with his mother, who rejected him. And then in and out of institutions.
You can see where the makings come from, thankfully we have legalised abortion and there is an option for unwanted children to not be born.
I am of course not advocating abortion as birth control. But I would rather see an unwanted pregnancy terminated early, than an unwanted child end up like this.
