Typical, a face seen many times along with an oft heard voice but her name didnt ring any bells until I saw her picture.
The few episodes I saw of the very popular TV show 'Touched by an Angel' in which she was the lead, were excellent.

Yes, a great performer.... and a good innings at least for a change... 86.

I can imagine the resistance she faced taking gospel music to casinos in Las Vegas.
