According to the News tonight, he is currently in a high dependency ward suffering from Alzheimer's decease and considering his present state of health he is unlikely to be ever called to Court to answer any charges.

In this case, I can well understand the wishes of any alleged victims to have their day in Court but it seems this all supposedly happened many years ago so why make claims now that can never be fully addressed??

Given his state of Mind, he has no way of defending this action.
If it did happen, why wait so long to complain. Unless you are just after money.

I wonder if there should be a statute of limitations on such claims. It's not as though these people have been murdered with no witnesses.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I totally agree. Make the complaint when it happened.
Trauma and other factors may delay the complaint up to a year or two.
    Wait 20 plus years ?

When genuine I can only give my utmost support for the person.

I agree that there should be a statute of limitations for these cases. If the alleged victim/s came forward sooner they could of stopped the future victim/s being abused. After so long I think you must bring forward a witness/es or undeniable evidence before staining reputations and causing the accused person and their family the heartache and trauma of alleged crimes

    alleged crimes
That is the crux of it all. In just about every court case the accused should not be identified until found guilty, then, all bets are off. Trial by media can do far more damage than a "guilty on all counts" verdict can. How many innocents have had their lives ruined by unfounded rumours?

Yeah, this one just seems too 'convenient'... as he can't defend himself.
I personally knew Changa in the late 70's he was a good friend of my brother in law - he owned a pub at Taree at the time.

Easy money today. All you need to do is make up a story and stick to it. You NEED to go back 20-30 years and find yourself where you are a child where you were alone with a man and you still witnesses that are still live. Biingo you have new Mustang! Well put it this way my Lawyer friend is NOW defended a Man that was Arrested and Charged with Child Sexual Offenses 25 years ago, the Complainant asked the Police how long would he take to get the Govenment Compo. Later in the week the Lawyers Private Investigator (I use the be the camera Man before I had the Heart attack) traced the complainant to a Ford Sales room where he put a Deposit on a New Mustang.
Yes No money for this claims 20 years ago but now its easy money and a disgusting way to may money and turn the life of misery for any person that is charges with CSO.

A Brother in Law was convicted of Sexually assaulting one of his daughters and out of spite, he made the claim that a man who had been a great friend to the family had also been involved and for the next 18 months until the Bro=in=Law went to court where he withdrew his complaint, this man had orders placed against him regarding contacts with children.
