Samsung S6 & S8 question

Hi all. I had the same problem with my previous S6 as well. One of my contacts comes up on the screen when he calls, but the phone does NOT ring. I figure it has to be something common to both the S6 and S8, which makes it either HIS phone, or MY simcard. I deleted his details and re entered them with a different name, but the problem still exists. I had heard somewhere that I could program individual contacts with their own ringtone. Is that right? If so I may have inadvertantly deleted ANY ringtone for this person. If this can be done, where is this specific tone programmed please. I have only had the S8 for two days so I am still playing with it. Thanks in advance.

Yes you can add custom ring tones to individual callers, which may be your issue. might assist you.

OK found it.
There is ONE thing tho'. If you are saving your contacts to SIM, it does NOT allow individual ringtone to be set. I got around this by starting a NEW entry for this person and saved it to PHONE, then deleted the entry for him from the sim.
Hopefully, that should do it? now to test it.
