Default Bonaire Evap high voltage ceramic capacitor 3kvdc on a AC 240 line?

    Hi All

After some help in identifying a ceramic capacitor on a control board for Bonaire VSL 65.

There are two close to each other c2 and C3 and look the same however cant identify the faulty one(C2), because it has had a short and blown a fuse and the blue cover of itself.

    Hi All

1.The one that looks fine is connected between Neutral and Earth and is marked 222k 3kv (looking identical to below)

    2. (circled one) has had a short taking the slow blow fuse with it, and is connected from 240v active to earth with no markings as blown off when shorted.

It is installed on the active 240V line supply to the 24V transformer.

After reading around these are used to suppress noise down the line/signal change/ emi,

My triple check question is the marked " 3Kv 222K" on the working one, is a High Voltage Ceramic capacitor

    And 3Kv 3000v and is dc rated with 2.2nf = 222k or 222m

    (taken from another post )

Is it normal for these 3kvdc capacitors to be designed into the AC line although from active to earth?

If anybody has one of the control boxes for Bonaire series Evop, can the confirm what written on the capacitor?

Im aware the X and Y capacitors appear to be more fitting for this job, but dont wish to change the original specs of the components.

    Thanks for any assistance

    John

Yes it will be the same as the N-E cap (common arrangement)
The N-E cap should be under no voltage stress, unlike the A-E cap.
