    Default "Anti-Fa" in Melbourne ?

To my Oz friends what is the picture below about?

Who is Milo what ever his name is?

I am trying to stay informed with what goes on in your neck of the woods as well as mine. We all know trusting the validity of ANY news source here in the US is a leap of faith.

You Oz men have corrected me in the past when I've posted some questionable news stories, that I can't disprove here in the states, with your better vision from abroad.

So what's the truth about the pic below?

    thanks Chris

Milo Yiannopoulos is a far right activist from the UK, he is in Australia on a speaking tour, some of the far right crowd from Pauline Hanson's One Nation party are supporting him while a few from the far left are opposing him. Meanwhile the vast majority of us couldn't give a stuff.

I'm with the couldn't give a stuff lot.

    Read a about the protest.

i cant believe some people paid $995 for a ticket fkme

Its a wonder you havent heard of him over there he was with Breitbart News

Police barricaded the outside of the pavilion before the show as those attending the event, some who paid up to $995 for a VIP ticket, were heckled by crowds of protesters as they walked through the doors.

Funny thing is, i had no idea who he was until 2 days ago, when the media gave him all this Free Publicity!!!
I guess i have to give him one thing, he has the system sucked in, he's been on every talk back show, news shows, interviewed on AM radio....
The biggest tools, fools and suckers here is the Media that give him oxygen.

I never heard of him, and I don't really know what he stands for.....

But, to me, two things are clear...

    1. Those that riot and oppose his speaking are thugs who oppose free speech. And as such have no place on the streets.

    2. Those that riot and support him are just as bad.

They ALL should be arrested for affray and thrown in jail.

    Other than that, I couldn't give a sh*t.

I'm with you enf, i went and googled him, watched some YouTubes of him speaking, and apart from his personal views, i had NO IDEA what he stood for or what his message was.....

And the way he speaks (as a young arrogant poofter does) is completely discrediting anything he has to say anyway.
I am dumb foundered how he has even got on these TV and Radio programs??

If you saw this guy talking in the street, you'd ignore him as a nutter.

Most people that have seen Milo speak have been impressed from all reports I have seen.

He is gay, and is "married" to a black man (I put "" because I dont believe in gay marriage).

What he does do is stir the crap out of the politically correct left. And good on him in my opinion, unfortunately no one in this country is game to even say a word against the loony left for fear of losing their jobs or getting bashed.

The idiot with the stick is a loony left protestor, obviously good buddies with the unions who are all left wing and loony in this country (Disclosure : I am a former left wing loony unionist that used to do the same in the photos)
In the photo on the right, the guy in the orange top on the right is a right winger from a group of about 60 that turned up to defend Milo and those who wanted to enter to hear him speak.Obviously the bloke in the black shirt strangling him is a loony leftist.

Many of the right wingers are wearing Toll Transport shirts to protests so that Toll get a bad name as they sacked one of them after he was seen at a protest wearing an employer Toll shirt.

Extremists on either side of the political spectrum are to be deplored. Violence is completely unacceptable but so too is hate speech that leads to that violence.

Mr Yiannopoulos's speeches on university campuses in the United States have sparked violent protests, and he was banned from Twitter last year amid a barrage of racist abuse directed at Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones.
He was invited to Australia by that absolute head case, senator David Leyonhjelm, one who would be rejoicing if Australia was to fall into the mire of anarchy. One has to wonder if David Leyonhjelm is actually sane, perhaps he should be in a mental facility rather than the Senate.

I thought he was just another "shock-and-awe" show-pony at first, then I saw this video, and decided he was a complete waste of valuable natural resources like air, food, and water.

He was not invited to Australia by Leyonhjelm. Leyonhjelm invited him to speak at Parliament house while he is here.

Leyonhjelm, who certainly has some interesting ideas at times, is one of the few parliamentarians who is a true believer of free speech in Australia. Unlike many countries, Australia does not have the right to free speech and never has. And due to the PC leftist lunacy we now suffer, its unlikely we'll ever have free speech.

Violence is completely unacceptable but so too is hate speech that leads to that violence.

So in a nutshell, you dont believe we should have free speech in this country and if anyone says something that the left find unacceptable, the left can then bash the people who spoke.

Where was the hate speech ? Calling Feminists ugly ?

Seems that the ALP government charge for police work if you are not a leftie........imagine them doing that for the CFMEU.

Here's a comment in the paper that sums up my view...

So a Labor government sends a bill for police to conservative events but I would bet my life that unions don’t pay for their events or problems they cause. The principal of police charging to do their job to handle unruly protesters is unbelievable and 100% wrong. As an ex federal cop I find this abhorrent. Lisa Neville should withdraw the bill and apologise for her actions.

The issue is not what Milo has to say, but his right to say it. Australia lacks Constitutional protection of free speech, which is under attack from stupid laws and tribunals and left-wing lunatics who believe in free speech only when you agree with them. As far as Milo himself is concerned, admin summed things up well. He basically makes fun of political correctness. The left hate him because they view him as a traitor. After all, in their view of the world homosexuals are a victimised minority who should all support leftist views. Milo performs a much needed role in speaking out and making fun of some of the more ridiculous leftist positions. He is intelligent and articulate and seems to win most arguments, which in some cases is not hard. Here is a link to his somewhat one sided confrontation with a female Australian Muslim activist who seems to be extremely ill-prepared to argue.

I don't agree with everything that Milo says, and I would certainly not part with my money to see him. But I do support his right to say it without being attacked by thugs of the left who are themselves the fascists they purport to oppose. He is a controversial character and an attention seeker, but he nevertheless says a lot of things that need to be said. I really don't think the repeated chants of hate speech have any real substance or any purpose but to try to shut him up.

Yeah...I get that. What I'm asking is if it is applied uniformly.... I'll bet it's not. I can't recall a single report that a union protest was actually charged for the police.

Don't get me wrong here. It's entirely possible that the previous government didn't act impartially either....
