Default What has it cost me.

The other day while cleaning I noticed the motor of an idle ceiling fan was hot. Investigations found that the the fan was seized and the control knob was off spline (previous tennants fixed it no doubt) so that even though we had never used the fan we thought it was in the off position. Not so, power was passing through the fan. What sort of current would a fan draw in that circumstance. We have been in the house 5 months and currently arguing with our elec suppplier about ridiculously high bill.

Sparky is coming (after pestering agent) to check unsafe, damaged unserviceable ceiling fans as well as mismatched downlights (some 12V some 240V and most with baked exposed wiring behind them. Agent was, I think not keen at first but we pushed the safety aspect and work is to start.

I would say to the agent that when the house catches fire because of the faulty electrical fittings that have been reported to him, I will be more than happy to give a statement to the Insurance company as well as the Police, local papers and anyone else that you were advised of the problems but did nothing about and BTW, I am suing you tooo !!!
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
