Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Well Disney's latest effort at the Star Wars franchise is something of an enigma. It seems to be doing quite well at the box-office, but at the same time, there seems to be a high level of dissatisfaction with actual Star Wars fans.

While the film could be said to be visually stunning, I'm afraid I came away with an overall feeling of disappointment. The movie is quite epic at 2½hrs long, but the whole story doesn't seem to have gone anywhere by the end. There were a few story arcs set up in the previous movie that were just snuffed out like an old durrie, seemingly just to annoy anyone who cared.

Apparently it is popular with kids and casual movie-goers who don't really care much about Star Wars. That's Disney for ya I suppose.
