Default Wow, is it hot or what ?

Its like walking into a blast furnace, 42 degrees in Melbourne. For our overseas contingent, that's 107.g fahrenheit.

Be nice and put a container or bucket of water outside, there is a lot of heat stressed birds about.

Hard to believe its only 21 tomorrow.

43 today, 42 tomorrow and 39 Monday. So, yes hot.

35° here....just dropped one of my kids off at Summernats. Like a concrete smokehouse....
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

It was supposed to be a heat wave here in Tassi today, Tas fire service issued a total fire ban, you guessed it, dont know what happened to the heat what a fizzer feels more like a mild winters day

yeah when it hits you guys who are't used to it, it knocks you around

been 40+ here for around a week. The dry heat is ok but when it gets humid it's a bitch,

But i suppose that's normal in the top end

When I was growing up in the 50’s and 60’s summer was all ways >40* for days even weeks, I don’t know how record high temps have been made now days also car, shopping centres, pubs, clubs my old schools never had air conditioning. Maybe seasonally adjusted the new record temps??

I think the worst part is that we're not getting a chance to adjust as it seems to be going from one extreme to the other almost as fast as the hands move on the clock.
Last night the reading was down to 11c but by 10am it was 30C.

Penrith in NSW has recorded not only its Hottest ever reading but so far for all of Australia with a reading of 47.1 C or 116.1 F!!!

Knowing Penrith, it will remain high for many hours to come as it sits in a huge basin and gets little or no relief from any changes.

I went to work near Penrith late one night in early December many years ago and it had been a typical hot day there.
The was a concrete equipment hut with a 6 x 2 raised concrete slab as a 'verandah' and I went to sit on it, I couldnt because it was too hot and I had to get an old mat out of the car to put on slab.
This was around midnight so how bloody hot had it been for the slab to be still so hot ?
