    Ummmmm....the date?

If changing the date changes nothing at all, as YOU YOURSELF just said, then why change it at all?

Typical ABC...I wonder why the current day isn't in such a poll. Of course that isn't the question, but it SHOULD be IMO.

    Forget Australia Day, in Australia.....

In my area, it seems "Chinese New Year" is a much larger celebration!!!
    What does that say....

The country i grew up in is dead to me now

We seem so obsessed arguing about same sex marriage, equality and Australia Day, that its been de valued.
Meanwhile, the Chinese (or anyone else) move in.....

    Ahhhh History Repeating itself
Hope our Indigenous folk like noodles

    P.S. Happy Australia Day all

Going only by the ABC news website it looks like, being generous, 50 000 people protested around the country to change the date.

In case it's been underestimated, double it to 100 000.

Going by the currently approximated population of Oz at over 24 mil, subtract 2 mil for senior citizens and 2 mil for babes/kids who couldn't march.

What did the other 20 million do? I reckon they enjoyed the day like me

Or as friend said to me today when i asked him his thoughts on this "Change the Date" thing.......

"I say let's start again, you blokes shoot first, then it's our turn"

As blunt as that was, he made a fair point.... I'd say any protesting would be over promptly.
They want equality in its true form, lets go back and play the point again

I almost made the news over this crap yesterday - I was just having my usual morning tea at my fav beachside hangout and a bunch of abo protesters carrying " change the date " and " genocide " placards walked up. The leader of this unwashed bunch of ragtags started going on about how you white C***ts invaded and murdered us etc etc blah blah . I said - well , if youre not happy with white people over what they have done , then hand back all the housing and welfare benefits that white people give you and go back to living like your ancestors. shoot didnt this cause a stir , they were all mobbing around and calling me all the swearwords that their limited vocabulary can muster. Just then the local WIN news reporters pulled up out front , probably attracted by the rukus , so i chooffed off on my bike flipping them the bird. what a bunch of ungrateful arseholes , biting the hand that feeds them.

Did what they usually do about any contentious issue, sat on their @rses, swigging stubbies, and whinging about it.

So, what should they have been doing? Protesting at that rally? Perhaps holding one of their own?

It was a holiday, so if you are offended that they spent it sitting on their arses drinking stubbies, and whinging about it (which is no different than the protesters themselves, whinging wise) then what have you got to complain about? At least they probably did it at home and didn't gather and whine.

My daughters ex and his mates (mostly abos) reckon they are all just a bunch of divisive idiots (not his exact words)....

I'm not offended by any of it, it is just a comment on the general apathy of the common man these days.
