Default Are VHF shutting down in Australia.

I heard a rumor and it could be a rumor that VHF frequencies are shutting down in the near future (Just for Brisbane the Frequencies are) . When I say VHF I mean Ch 9= 191.625, Ch 7= 177.500 TEN= 219.500 SBS= 184.500, ABC= 226.500.

Can anyone have some input on this.

In capital cities the UHF Spectrum was vacated from DVB to be sold to 4 and 5G operators, Don't think a VHF shutdown is expected anytime soon. Consideration to such a move would only be after the NBN would have 100% coverage, 25 MB minimum speed and access would be free of charge.

    I very much doubt it.

It all went the other way... with the remaining UHF channels migrating to VHF.

It would be a huge expense to change all high-power transmitters.

Most think that only UHF is used in regional areas but the Bathurst NSW translator is still on VHF for all channels.
And although I havent looked recently, I saw on the Digital ready site that VHF either for some or all channels is still in use in other regional locations.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
