Default Florida USA - Another High School Shooting

I know this isn't even worth posting....
It's just another week in America.

But what i find interesting, is all the talk post the event about gun control, previous shootings, lessons learned, etc....

But really... isn't this just the "New Normal" for American High Schools?

Kind of puts the Muslim threat into perspective.

Im surprised the NRA isn't pushing for students to be armed so they can protect themselves.

According to 2nd-amendment fanatics, the period after a mass-shooting isn't 'the right time' to discuss gun-control laws. With mass-shootings an almost monthly event now, it seems they will never get to have that discussion. Too bad.

The NRA must be so proud.

A Florida reporter told ABC (Australia) News during a report on this school shooting that there are some 30,000 gun related deaths each year in the USA, of those 18,000 are Suicides, the other 12,000 are someone shooting another.
He was asked about the affect these shooting were having on the general public and he confirmed that the impact was lessening as a recent shooting 'Out of State' was not reported(Published) in the main Media, only locally.
Also was asked if this would cause any action to introduce any form of Gun Control and the Reporter said might actuality increase gun ownership based on previous mass school shootings.

Add this 'Off the cuff' remark made during a US 'Reality' show about a family living 'Off the Grid' and seeking help to make it work, the woman said when asked why they were there replied that 'her Mother who had been living in Phoenix (Arizona) had had enough when one day someone had driven to a Park and just started shooting'.......

This show was made at least 6 months ago so the remark was not related to this recent school shooting.

If I use mandc's graphic in mind. The rest of the every day gun deaths in the USA look like a bucket of raspberries.

And what is interesting is that mass shootings are a very very small amount of gun deaths in the USA. But they get 95% of the media attention.

I've said it before. We know the 2nd amendment is the main cause. But even if this is changed, do you really think that you're going to be able to stuff the gun genie back in the bottle or stop the mexican gun genie from restocking North America?

So in order to change the 2nd amendment one simple thing has to happen.
Americans have to trust their government more than they trust their neighbours.

Fvck, Australians barely trust their government and with the recent documents leaked through the ABC they have every reason not to and almost a validation to arm themselves.

The 2nd amendment is the ONLY thing that protects Americans from their own government. There is not a snowflake's chance in hell that they ever will.

This kid could have popped a cap in the Don and the whinging left would have proclaimed him as a hero.

What do you think the result of a USA referendum on the 2nd Amendment would be tomorrow?

I give better odds of the KKK performing wedding cermonies for gay Hatian refugees.

I've said this all along ....the guns are there and will ALWAYS be there. You can't get rid of them, so why bother trying to disarm citizens who are probably better armed than you.

It's their way, so just leave them be and let them slaughter each other as they continue to buy MORE guns for safety...and the politicians get to continue to offer their "thoughts and prayers" for the victims families.

Besides, it gives the daily tabloids something to write about besides leftie PC policies that to me are more depressing because they ARE preventable.

Nothing will change overnight, but I think its up to individual states to try and make some moves on the gun issue.

As an example, in Florida this 19 yo had no problem buying an AR-15 with little to no background check. Clearly this isn't good enough.

While it is possible to be killed with any gun, its predominantly these big semi military semi autos that are being used in mass shootings.

It will take many many small steps to eventually make some change there.

I also agree they need to update the way they do background checks but the rights of being able to buy guns is complicated. There are sure numbers that back handguns are the most popular for accidental and violent crimes but their idea of gun control is only attacking legal gun owners. Tough to say if it wasn't so easy for him to buy a gun would he have bought it illegally possibly however as unfortunate as it is if he killed several people with a axe should we consider banning those as well I think the real issue here is also law enforcement officials they had multiple complaints or issues and not to act on them including the fbi was just proof that law enforcement is not going to protect anyone. If I put a gun on the table it wouldn't shoot anyone by itself but someone could pick it up and shoot me or someone with it but its hard to tell who will and wont or when. The other side of the fence is defense for legal gun owners if a criminal is carrying they aren't going to care about new gun laws or background checks its no bother too them really its going to be a long drawn out process of walking the fine line in the middle to solve this problem and everyone will need to come together to do so.
