In Friday's Daily Telegraph a report was made that 'Unlimited' phone plans had 'finally arrived in Australia but have had a false start after Optus quickly removed all-you-can-use-deals from their website.
The Telco has 'remained tight lipped' as to why the Supersized plans were removed within hours of going LIVE this Month.
I must say I have been amazed to see how many 'Plans' are now available offering 'Unlimited Talk Time' when barely a few weeks ago, it seemed only the 'Third party' companies using 'part of such and such a network' were making such offers but they didnt suit me because of their International use offers.
Despite being limited to only using Telstra at home, using my $15 AldiMobile SIM, I cut $40 from the previous Months landline in calls alone so if I do get rid of the landline, my phone bill for the 2 mobiles will only be $30.
I think you will all agree, the more players in the market the better so, Optus, Come on Down !!!
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

Can I hazard a guess they're just greedy bastards. My experience with Optus is that they make Telstra look good. And that is not a compliment.

Don’t most plans - even prepaid - offer unlimited talk and text nowadays? It only seems to be data that is metered. Or am I missing what Optus was offering?
Edit:
Optus and Telstra both offer unlimited calls and text on pre-paid for $30 a month. Vodafone for $20. I must be missing what deal you were talking about with Optus.

Statistically, if you wait long enough, everything will happen!
Gordon, it appears Optus were introducing mobile plans with unlimited *data* - which is indeed a new concept for mobile phones.
As mentioned, you’d be hard pressed to not find a plan today from all the providers (including the telcos) that doesn’t already have unlimited calls and texts.
