    Default Pc turns off when converting Movie

    Hey guys

    Everytime i try to used convertxtodvd to convert my movies my pcs turns off everytime it get to about 6%, i noticed this starting happening when i moved my motherboard to a new case.. My pc stays on for hours as long as i dont use the convertxtodvd program.
    Anyone know why this is happening??
    I tried system restore no go
    I tried to take my pc apart and put it back together again still no luck.

    My first guess would be heat, movie conversions are very CPU intensive and the CPU will run hot. Most other things won't push it as hard for as long. A possible fix is to look at the CPU heatsink, personally I'd test it first with the heat probe for my multimeter though.

    Or RAM, vso (and other memory intensive programs like quickpar) have been know to fail withdodgy RAM. You may have no other problems until it's under load then you'll either get errors or a system fail. Check with memtest, or just by some brand name RAM.

    PS, heat is the other likely culprit as suggested above. Monitor the temp while running vso.

    try differ converter prog and see if get same prob ... and turn off shutdown on pc error ... most likely get BSOD .. but ya get error code .. then track it down !

    by turn off do you mean it shuts down, resets or just turns off similar to pulling out the power plug?

    No just turns off.. Was a fault cpu fan. cpu overheating. replaced fan everything okk.
