I have ran one with no problem at 6 Mhz both of a Windows PC with NewCS and internal on a DM500.

    Thanks Guys

I gave it a go and it read no problems.

My ECM response times have dropped from approx 0.55 seconds to 0.35 seconds.

    However, given this warning,

WARNING! You are overclocking your card: 6.000Mhz (Max 5Mhz)

do you think it is worth changing the 6 MHz crystal to a 5 MHz crystal ?

Check if the card is getting hot. If it is you need to clock it down. If it is not don't worry.

Been running one in a linux server with no probs, the error message is probably valid technically, but the extra 1 Mhz is not critical it seems.

Running linux can drop your response times by up to 200ms over windows.

I am running NewCS (6 MHz) on a Linux server and my average response times are 350 mS. Is this what you seem to get?

I also noticed that with two clients connected, 'sometimes' the ECM response times rise to 700 mS on one box. This seems to happen because the two clients send ECM's at exactly the same time (the timestamps on the log are identical). I wonder if this will increase to over a second (pixellation?) if I add an additional client? I wonder if changing priority from round to fifo will make any difference? I'll keep testing.

    Hi sandery,

Your timings are the same as mine. I have a few more clients and they are on wan. I get very few 1 sec ecm's with whitey, more with a bluey.

Latency is largely caused by my isp tho still under 1 sec.

300 - 700 ms is the norm for me.

You should be able to run in excess of 20 clients.
