    Default Wirless Bridge

Anyone have any experience with Wirless Bridges?

Looking at getting the Linksys WET54G to hook up some equipment that is out of the way (ie no RJ45 near)

Idealy I would like to cable the connection but just wanted to get a feel.

    Zaius.

    wireless bridges work great mate
some instances they work better than internal wifi connections(ive got one hooked up to my ps3). In total ive got about 6 access points going, dreambox's, consoles, one sitting near the side fence(sharing internet with next door neighbour).

Ive got no complaints with them, ideally its not great for downloading large amounts of data but for stuff such as online gaming, dreambox's etc there perfect.

I have no experience with the unit your talking about, but i have used and can reccomend these ones

Work great, lots of features and different modes you can set it to. Easy to setup, very reliable and the signal strength is really good. They have removable antenna's so if you want to do some long distance work the are flexible for that also.

I've set up a system with 3 D-Link AP's each 500m apart, although pretty much no instructions come with D-Link products, their online support pages are of great value and their phone tech support is very very good and will guide you through setting it up if you have trouble.

I've also set up many wireless bridges. The best by far are the UltraWap V2 from freenet antennas

These things are cheap but literally indestructible. I stick them in red hot roofs for a good summer roasting and they perform flawlessly.

Here is one in the roof doing a 600m link with a 6db antcap antenna all day every day. I used a dlink before this and it was very flaky. It's using power over ethernet - hence the adapter.

At $100 an end it's the cheapest thing out there.
