I can't remember it even being used here since I have been back in Australia but it is very common in Germany and Holland.

It refers to a bunch of unintelligent people living in an in-orderly fashion, to say it politely.

When I was at UNI in Germany and I lived with other students in shared accomodation to save money, we were called Hottentots (Die Hottentotten) by the elderly generation.
Several people living together in the same apartment or house who were not related to each other was seen by these conservative sorry souls as in-orderly.

The term Hotttentotten actually sounded funny to me back then, so I didn't take anything these ignorant old losers said seriously.
Now that I belong to the elderly generation I feel somewhat compelled to do take these things seriously and not become a bad role model or be seen as a sorry old soul by our younger generations.
    At least someone gets it..

I'm still waiting for your "logical argument". Feel free to post it anytime, instead of the usual "Typical reply, you can’t win with a logical argument so you attack those with an opposing view instead with ridicule and incredulity, you fit right in don’t you… "

    For you reference;

But no matter what is already written, nothing is going to satisfy you…

As the OP put it, More Woke Insanity, describes it and you to a tee.

    Enough said.

    Blocked.

Big thanks to WOKE for making everyone aware and giving the old 17th century word rebirth. I learnt something new today - new word "Hottentot".

Fyi: Hottentot is the term fashioned by the Dutch (later Afrikaner) settlers, probably in imitation of the clicks in their ( the Khoekhoe) language.

As I mentioned the term is STILL very commonly used in the Netherlands and Germany, even as a surname.

Update: A deletion of features that work well and ain't broke but are deemed outdated in order to add things that are up to date and broken.

I'm a bit confused. I saw the latest Indiana Jones film and it had a warning about Tobacco use.
Jesus on a ####ing stick, one cigarette lit in a historical period where everybody smoked.
I mean fvck, cigarette might be bad but what about nazis or radical politics or gruesome violence and warfare.
But hey, the durry needs a warning, it might be too much for somebody.
Yes I am an agent of Satan, but my duties are largely ceremonial.

A historical period? As was Mary Poppins. The banks in the movie were pretty bad and greedy and naughty too IIRC.

Perhaps there should be a warning that the movie was shot "pre banking enquirey".
