Why do you need a special graphics card to run a disc burner?

    bluray has hdcp protection

you need a hdcp complient card to watch movies otherwise its just black.

sorta like macrovision.... its just to stop piracy pretty much

Cool i think hd dvds are around nearly as same as blueray dvds

hi there blueray has taken off, but video ezy near me still sell or hire the hd dvd blue ray or just normal dvds.. i think hds a good way bcz there not region there all region 0 where with blueray aus and newzealand is region b usa and canada is region 1 ,i modded my samsung bdp1000 blueray player to do all ,also had to mod the normal dvd player in it as it was locked as well .,i also notice alot of dvd shops like video ezy all there blueray movies are regions abc. i just bought a seperate hd dvd player 2 seperate units on 2 hdmi leads also does me ,im not go to buy a blueray recorder unless they come below $1000 aus ,thanks hamguy2 nsw.

You don't need a new graphics card just AnyDVD HD
    no HDCP problems after that.
