Make LG GH22LP20 burn slower

I generally use Nero to burn audio CDs - but I've been noticing that as I've upgraded my CD/DVD drives, the slowest burning speed possible has crept up from 1x to 16x.
I'm not that keen on burning at 16x. I'd prefer to burn at 4x.
Anyone know a way of forcing Nero to burn at a slower speed?
Or should I use a different app for disc burning?

I think this may be the fault of the burners firmware that will not allow slower burning and nero is just letting you know what is allowed.
If this is the case all burning software will give you the same speed choices.

Thanks for that. Hmmm suppose I should have looked there myself - but I had this nagging idea that the software can control the burning speed.
