    Default $250 satellite?

A mate of mine has just finished building his house and one of the tradies told him he could have satallite tv for $250 a year and you get some sort of updates off the internet which give you 100+ channels. What the hell is that? If it's any good I might kill my fox sub. Any one heard of this?

Maybe steaming over the internet as done by blackcrusader, send him a PM and ask about it but me personally I would rather go for all the free channels we get here in Oz via satellite.

I think he was offered card sharing for a price.

Someone with a card gives you access to their card via your internet connection for a price.

Your at his mercy once connected, it will cost a packet to setup and ongoing yearly connection costs to the seller.

Tell him to get a Select subscription, its cheap and legal.

He mentioned something about it being from taiwan (not sure if he ment channels or equipment) and there being something like 100+ channels. I will try get some more info but from what godzilla is saying it doesn't look too promising.

Card sharing can be a pain in the butt. I tried it for a while & had nothing but trouble. If your internet connection is not up to scratch you can get picture freeze. the provider will want a anual fee anyway. best get a sub.

Nah it's defenitely not that, I had that for a little while and like everyone said it is hopeless. You need a receiver, you go on the net every few weeks or so to get an update, that's what the $250 is for. It's not sounding promising, I should hopefully get some more info today.

Oh, it's not streaming, and is certainly not bullshit.

After finally getting hold of the bloke and quizzing him about this deal it seems as tho he is trying to sell a card sharing setup, didn't even bother asking him any more after that.

Yeah maybe Taiwan cable TV. Thats costa bout US$200 per year.... lots of channels ... mostly in Chinese though hahahahaa There is a company here not related to mine which has started up an illegal IPTV service. I dont broadcast I offer to stream pay TV content and fta content from hardware and subs the clietns pay for.... but dont do so to many in Australia,

If you want 100 channels for free why dont you just download TVU Player.

The good things in life are free. somethings you just have to pay for

I stream pay content with pay cards. Thats why it costs a bit. However it's really for thse living in non English speaking countries like CHINA where satellite dishes are mostly illegal. But for a Thai wife who wants nice local Thai channels aling with Truevisions channels for ther Thai restaurants... then why not?
