    Default Motorola XTL 2500

Hi All, I'm working on a project that interfaces to the serial port of a Motorola XTL 2500. I have examined the data coming from the serial port and although I can recognise some of the data in its ascii format, I have yet figured out how the packets of data are constructed. Would anyone have any documents or resources that explain the protocol for the serial data coming out of this radio.

the data is in ascii format but the packet info is in a prprietary moto format. If i remember correct the packet format is 1 bit header, then 18 bits info, then 9 bits error correction and 1 bit crc (total 32 bits/packet).

what are you trying to do ? control the radio or have it control something else? I know that for VRS the radio oputputs 2 types of data one to control the VRS unit and the other to address the vrs transmitter/reciever.
