Hey everything you need to learn about the XTS 3000 programming is all included in the programming software you have......may b a read of that would b a start....the program also includes a step by step wizard which you can choose from the startup screen....Basic Conventional and digital channels are ok to setup but encryption and trunking are a different league all together plus you have to have the right flashcode...

    Hi guys,

I have been looking on the web and various places for weeks, for programming software for the Moto xts3000 programing software, as i have bought one from the us, just wondering if anybody knows where i could find the software to program it (for RX only), as ive heard most radio techs wont touch them.

    any help would be appreciated

Looks like you're out of luck on that one.

The encryption used requires a 'handshake' from the radio with the police (or other applicable emergency services networks) when it's turned on.

Basically, it has to check into the system and be verified as an authorised radio before active keys are loaded into the radio, for it to function, even as RX only.

Emergency services radio networks have no 'RX-only' digital radios, so the radio must be able to transmit to communicate with the system and be looged in.

If an unauthorised radio attempts to log into the system, its details are recorded and the radio will then be automatically stunned, rendering the radio inoperative.

So, beware.... if you attempt to have the radio log into the systems, it will become a brick, instantly.

If it doesn't log in, it won't decrypt the signals.

It's really only of use to you for unencrypted signals that do not require a handshake, so if your intention was to monitor emergency services encrypted digital transmisions, then you've purchased some expensive paperweights.

Let's know how you get on.
