What brand is the old Trabs box, if it's an old Pace or UEC, no problems.

    MDS Box is completly Useless...

Won't load any of the FTA channels on D2 cause there all networked now and the box hasn't got enough memory to load them all it used to work before when the freq's weren't networked but now forget it

Not sure about other satellite or freq's might work but as soon as you lose power or disconnect power from the box it will lose the settings you put into it and you will need to re enter all the details again

In other word it was a piece of crap to begin with and now with nothing MDS left and FTA not working on it its a complete piece of crap...

Which TARBS box do you have? I've got the one with the flip down cover on the front. I think it might be model 3110.

Anyway I flashed the EPROM with the original uncustomized firmware and now the box can access all FTA without the need for a card.

Only problem was that the firmware I flashed it with came from a box with a different front panel, so the volume/channel/power buttons no longer work, but the remote control works fine.

Flashing is trivially easy though. There's a pin header inside the box which you connect via a homemade interface (wire and a few resistors) to your PC's parallel port and software which you use to upload the new flash file to ROM.
