why wouldnt you just set it up with file sharing enabled to the folders you want to share??
i dont think you need to run NAS software with a PC. Win 98/me/2k/xp/vista & linux will all allow you to share drives etc.
I have an old computer laying around and I want to turn it into NAS drive and connect it to my modem router , was after some suggestions for some NAS software , I have tried Freenas but for some reason it doesnt seem to like the hardware and I just cant get it to run , I have tried it on three other machines without a hitch , has anyone else used any other software ???????
