Panasonic DMR-E85H H/D DVD recorder finalise

anyone know how to get this to finalise a DVD once it has finished burning
I get a message to hit enter to finalise as soon as it finishes burning but if you don't do it quick enough the option goes off and I can't find how to finalise a completed DVD

and then if you do get it to finalise a DVD it won't play in any other DVD players we have

Manual I have has nothing about it at all

I've got a '77' here which might have similar menus...when your DVD is ready to finalise hit -

Function Menu
Highlight and hit 'To Others'
Highlight and hit 'DVD Management'
Highlight and hit 'Finalise'

This is how it is done in the DMR-EX77 which is kind of similar I believe. DVDs made in my machine play in any other player I have tried.

Nope the menu is a bit different
I still can't find any way to finalize a dvd after it has been edited
the only finalize I see comes up at the end of a "burn" but then you can't add menus etc.

Anyone else have any ideas

I have one of these DVD Recorders.

Switch the Drive to DVD

Select Functions

Select Disc Management - this gives you 4 options

Enter name (if you want)

Top Menu (a choice of 9 menus)

Auto Play Select - makes your finished Disc play automatically from the 1st title or from the Menu (disc only plays automatic on some machines)

Finalize - a couple of steps Finalizes the DVD, usually about 2-3 minutes
