    Default Newbie - foxt*l blue card - DM500C - pli jade - cccam 2.0.9

Hi, Can someone please help. I've been stuck on this for hours and i've gone through all these forums and the pli forums.

I've got a Dreambox 500C (cable). I've put the pli jade (old framebuffer) image on it.

From what I can tell that includes the CcCam 2.0.9 as well. I've set this to be the "Default Softcam" in the menu.

I've inserted my foxt*l blue card into the dreambox.

When I Auto-scan for channels I get two options.
    - SR 6900
    - SR 6875

But I'm not sure if those scans are for Australian Foxt*l channels. I get NO CHANNELS when i scan!

Can someone advise where I can get an Aussie .xml channel list, or if you have those same two options when scanning?

This is the cables.xml file i'm using :

    thanks!

thanks for the reply, but that didnt work.

I'll tell you my exact settings i used, in case another one is wrong:

    Freq 00618
    SR 06950

    Inv checked

    Modulation 64 QAM

    FEC Auto

    Network search Checked.

It scans and returns nothing... is there something else i need to do then?

The transponder scan has finished and found..0 everything....

Been a while since I had a cable dreambox, but off the top of my head these are the setings I used:

In Manual Search punch these values in:
    Freq: 00618
    Symbol Rate: 06950
FEC: Auto (but try flicking through these to get a LOCK, then go back to auto)
    Inv: Tick the box
    Network Search: Tick the box

When these settings are correct, Lock AND Sync boxes get ticked automatically. Then just start the scan and you should find all the channels.

Are you sure your coax cable is screwed in and active?

I'm afraid I get nothing from that.

I can't get LOCK to appear.

I can confirm the coax cable is screwed in ok, i've tested it with the official foxt*l box and it's working perfectly.

    This is so annoying!!

I might try switching to the Gemini image, see if it makes any difference. Are you sure on those values for the frequency?

    Thanks

Be careful with Gemini images mate, the newer ones kill our beloved dreamboxes... I would try reflashing pli (normal one not framebuffer) before doing anything else

Ok I'll wait till someone else suggests something.

I had the normal pli jade before this and no difference.

I think I must be scanning the wrong frequencies... and Im not too sure if CcCam is setup right, or what it's meant to do.

and darraghk you need a lesson in manners, when people try to help you on here and other web sites, like the Pli-images site .

    a search of this thread on this link shows;

and a good starting place might be this one titled - DM500C help total noobie

When you say its been answered here, is there a specific link you wanted me to look at, or do you mean it's been answered in the past?

I was looking at above thread yesterday, but in that thread he is able to scan and find all the channels. Also he is using Gemini image. When i suggested using Gemini i was warned it could brick my dreambox.

Just to be clear, I can't find any channels when I scan, so i think I'm scanning the wrong frequencies. Also I don't know how to "enable" my CcCam for Foxtel, as is mentioned in the above thread using Gemini.

Thanks, and sorry for any misunderstandings.... It's just frustrating, I was able to get this working a few years ago!!

I had a problem with my 600pvr about six months ago. Finally got it working. Maybe your tuner is stuffed? Is your box still under warranty?

darraghk look at the reply from KK here
"I asume from post#1 you want bluey to work in a stand alone dream, if so....

If you do not intend to share you don't need the cccam.cfg at all, let alone newcs!!

If you have downloaded a version of CCcam, make sure it is enabled for foxtel,

Via the blue button go to, autocamd setup, highlight "provider foxtel" use right vol arrow on remote and "set new camd" value to cccam 2.11 (or your installed version) just exit, change channels and the blue card will kick in.

You may want to do the above on a fresh flash as all the stuffing around with needless cccam config/newcs.xml editing may have corrupted the seamless way the above works.

I have done this with many dm500-s boxes running GEMINI, but never with a cable version.

I use GEMINI V4.1 on all my client decoders too, 2 of which are Mutant 200s boxes, because it has the best menu in my opinion."

If you have ccam installed use the blue button to set cam, this worked for me goodluck

    Thanks for the help guys.

jamesv, i think your setup is closest to mine. Did you stick with the pli jade image? And did you use the file cheiflets uploaded, cables.xml? I have to check the read/write permissions on mine.

casull, thanks.. i've read that thread a few times. But you're using Gemini.

Also I cannot get a LOCK and SYNC, when using those values... But I'm going to try again.

I might try gemini if i cant get it working today.

    Thanks again.

I've switched to Gemini image. It comes with ccCam 2.05.

Auto-scan and manual scan return nothing so far.

I try to scan manually using these settings but I can't get LOCK/SYNC to be checked.

    Freq: 00618
    Modulation: 64
    Inv Checked
    FEC Auto
    Symbol 06950
    Network Search checked.

Is my tuner broken, or too weak? IS there any way to check this? Should I get the free channels working even without using my foxtel card and the ccCam.

if you havent got a busted tuner, you probably need a signal amp.

    Where can I get one?

Do you think that's the problem?

I've had this box working before, but maybe the signal isn't as strong in my current address.

The foxtel box works ok - it's just the basic model, not IQ.

Yes - you should get the foxtel help channel as it is not encrypted. If you get this, you know you're on the right path.

People i've known in the past have needed signal amps because they cannot get certain transponders/channels but you can't get any. I'm not saying it won't work but its something to keep in mind before you shell out money for something that may not fix your problem.

Weird how the fox box works fine though....

    Hi keegs

You're right, it prob isn't the signal, the Foxtel works perfectly.

I'm using the CcCam that came with the Gemini image, think it's 2.05. Not sure if upgrading that would help.

What I really meant by the free channels was channel 7, channel 9, ABC....

I think I'm using the right settings for the manual scan, but I get nothing at all. I can't understand that, don't think it has anything to do with ccCam.

I don't think the tuner is broken, its worked ok for about 2 years before this.

    So frustrating!!....
