    Default Stock standard EPG?

    Hi,

    I notice, at least as I have it set up, the default EPG for the dm500s only shows Now and Next, yet the NDS provider box from Foxtel shows an all day+ EPG.

    I know that OZTIVO Plugin is available, but is there a way to get the stock standard EPG to show more than NOW & NEXT?

    ty

    Porkpop - NDS services in australia, uk and italy (to name a few) use a system called OpenTV for their epg. The provider boxes use proprietary software for the epg, which is why third party boxes can't access it.

    an image by nabilosat (blackhole v0.7) currently totally decodes and shows the complete UK and italian NDS epgs automatically, and is VERY simple to setup

    maybe if a few of you joined up and asked about australian NDS epg they may be able to implement it with a little bit of your help finding what channel carries the epg data etc

    Hey guys,

    I've been experimenting with this and hacking at the European stuff on the Enigma2 platform (dm7025) and i'm pleased to report i've got the full 7 days reading off the sat and browsing on my box. Wooo! Never thought i'd see the day!

    I'll test a little more and then post what i've got. If there's anyone around who knows how to turn a pile of messy code into an Enigma2 plugin then let me know.

    @ poiuytrewq

    it may be worth asking how to implement the grabbing of the epg data stream into the existing image on the forum your image came from

    id imagine it would only be editing a few config files somewhere

    I am using the Lt image on the 7025.

    AFAIK none of this opentv stuff is implemented in this image or any other on the 7025. But the program i've based it on (e2_loadepg) is compatible with most of the current images.

    When i've ironed out the kinks, then i'd expect that what i've tweaked will become part of future e2_loadepg releases and may be picked up by images from there?

    I'm certainly keen to pass it on - although every single person who uses it will owe me a beer!

    its built into the nabilosat E2 images m8, so on that image it would (or should) be just a matter of editing where the data is to be found for it to update itself

    Yeah that's pretty much it. It's not rocket surgery...

    I haven't used the nabliosat image but that is pretty much right. Assuming they've already got the opentv code, dictionaries, etc, then it really just needs the AU specific data to work. I would imagine if they do incorporate it would become pretty popular in these parts!

    just been looking, and the image is setup for opentv with a channel to zap to for the data to be downloaded

    if you could find from lyngsat or somewhere what transponder your epg is broadcast on, i think it may just work on its own once it finds the feed, as its fine with either uk or italian nds just by tuning into the transponder, it does the rest itself

    some screen shots of it here

    might be worth a play if you have multiboot options on your receiver to install the image as well, and give it a try, a message comes on the screen once it finds the data

    I have 2 x DM500's and use the 'Stock Standard' EPG and receive 7days and more EPG.

    You must load the plugin EPG Grabber. I also unticked the limit size in the settings for EPG and have the Cron set daily to load to my NAS drive.

    Digital+.cfg

    name=Digital+ EPG
    command=/var/bin/digital+.sh
    mapfile=digital+.dat
    options=
    type=xmltv
    numOfDays=7
    timeOffset=0
    use_cron=true
    epgLocation=/media/hdd/epg.db

    DBEPG.cfg

    name=Dreambox EPG Config
    desc=Retrieves EPG data from some internet EPG providers
    depend=
    type=2
    needfb=0
    needrc=0
    needlcd=0

    PLI Jade latest version. I simply downloaded plugin EPG Grabber. Basic setup under the 'yellow plugin' button.

    In the system settings menu under EPG, I have the ENIGMA EPG selected. Not the SQlite. Although I think it works the same.

    Saintaholic - you might want to check a few things mate

    without a doubt your showing valid 7 day epg there - but I will have to question your statements about where its coming from..

    firstly - digital+.cfg is for europe satellite - it gets its epg data from here h**p://asoft.no-ip.org/
    the digital+ configs including channel mapping will never get australian data

    secondly - the digital+.sh script accesses db_epg which loads xmltv into sqlite databases - it just doesnt work into the standard enigma EPG

    so either someone has made lots of other mods to your setup that you dont know about - or magic is happening on your box that doesnt work anywhere else

    out of interest have a look at
    crontab -l
    from a command line see what jobs are running - I'd be surprised if you dont have an oztivo running there somewhere.

    check out the EPG configuration screen where yours is showing Digital+ EPG hit OK and see what else is in the drop down menu...

    see if there is an oztivo in there ...
