    Default Ness D8 Mastercode reset

    I have just moved into a rental property that has a Ness D8. The issue is that i just put a new battery in and it keeps flashing "Program". And it wont accept the default mastercode of 123. Is there anyway to reset this code, ie; log into it with a laptop and reset the whole unit? and if somebody has a installation manual for it in a pdf that would be awesome.
    Also is there supposed to be a dedicated power supply or just the battery?

    Cheers

    when program is flashing (intaller program mode) press "P 11 E" this will then flash the master code on the key pad. And yes there should be a power supply. PM your email and I can send you the manual.

    All worked out well, Thanks YFZ for the manuals.
    Only issue I had was that it wont go back into installer mode unless you disconnect and reconnect the power from both the battery and mains

    Any idea where i can get the little remote from?
    Cheers

    A workmate of mine spent a whole day trying to figure out how to get into installer/programing mode on a D8, he forgot that you have to tamper the panel!

    There is only so many times you could power panel down/up before you figured out you were doing something wrong.

    I hope he didnt spend a whole day. lol

    OK, so its in programme mode at the moment, press P11E to get the Current code out, when you have it, press P then E to exit programme mode.

    The P11E code only gets you into lower menu, you probebly want to get into the upper menu with lots of 000000000000.

    No, the panel was in installer programme mode, "programme light flashing" P11E will instruct the system to read back the current code, and wait for a new code if so required

    P master code E is the first programme mode (user codes e.t.c) then P installcode E (programme light flashing) is installer programme mode. Which this panel was in.

    Yeah bad wording, the "11" is the master code.

    Default Lost

    Guys I have been reading your responses above but I am not sure what P and E stand for.

    I have also recently moved into a home which has a D8 installed. I was hoping to reset the master code? By reseting the master code so I can make changes in the future, more importantly I need code so we can start using the security system.

    I currently have one remote - can this be duplicated on the remote end or do I need to program the D8? If so how do I program the remote?

    The manuals says press P? then E? is E exclude then what is P?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    P=Program
    E=Enter

    If you read the manual then it explains to enter program mode there are two methods. P (master code) E, then press P11E and then enter the "new master code" and press E, "new Master code" and press E, and DON'T start the code with a "0".
    So explaining it another way -
    P (master code) E
    P11E
    P (new code) E
    P (new code) E
    The keypad will then beep three times to tell that the code has been accepted and then flash the code back via the zone LEDs or LCDs.

    To change the codes you do not need to be in full program mode, just user program mode.

    If you do not have the master code, then you should ask an installer for the correct method to get into program once they verify you are the occupant of the house and/or ask them for an installer manual which explains how to access program without an master code.

    Joao - you should be talking to MCman. He is a fairly senior employee with the people who make the system. He will be able to help you.

    Hello Joao,

    Some radio keys have a different 24bit encryption (we have two similar looking keys but for different products but can still be used on the other product).
    If this is the case where you get to the stage of learning in a Keyfob but it just doesnt learn in, P68E option 4 needs to be toggled on. Then you will be able to learn in the Key.
    regards MCman

    PS, on our website you can request technical help directly. If you are still having an issue, please contact us.
