Default DM8000 HD - Serial Phoenix - Doesnt work ?

    Hi guys,

When i plug in the serial phoenix to the rs232 port, and boot up the box it assumes that the box is going to be in flash mode from the pc...(both with the big switch in or out)...

I have taken out the pheonix and then rebootedenigma , however the reader does not function... Reader works fine in the dm500 with same config file etc..- Cccam that is...

Just wondering does any1 know anything about this ?

    Thanks

Have you contacted DMM and let them know about it ?
Get them to fix the DM800 issues while they at it .

I don't have one but try booting the box first before plugging in the reader then restart the cam and see what happens.

power the reader form the usb port instead of an external power supply

on bootup it detects the connection and will hang in flash mode, plugged into usb, the receiver will boot then turn on the power to the usb ports once booting from flash

this is the only way ive managed to get one working on a 7020 that had the exact same problem, now reboots every time with no problems

no luck... doesnt seem to get any response from the serial port when trying cccam or newcs......

made the usb adaptor connect, lights work fine... tested the phoenix with the modded usb adaptor on the pc and it works fine on the pc (newcs)...

my config files are fine as it works fine in a dm500s...

any more ideas or work arounds ?

    thanks guys..

every dreambox since the 7025 has no "real" rs232.
u will have to use a usb phoenix.
As far as i know the internal readers of the dm800 read all cards.

    yup the 8000

the slots read the cards fine ...

but still why waste a jaycar reader....

so since 7025 no serial port would work ? is this true ?
