    Default permisson denied under Telnet

    I still cant find an answer or i dont understand??
    How do i get over the permission denied under telnet, im able to telnet to the box ok but when i try to enter a directory eg /var/bin it comes back and tells me permission denied.
    Any help Thanks

    either you used the wrong uid or root or /var/bin has the wrong gid

    password wrong?

    uppercase instead of lower case?

    connecting to your router instead of your dreambox?

    Thanks for the replys z80 well i think the password is ok as it lets me access the box with root and dreambox??i can reboot the box ok via telnet so i assume that if i can do this then the password is correct ??
    jonc can you give me an example please what i should be doing to get into a directory.
    This is a difficult learning curb, almost as thick as two short planks

    /etc is in flash ...

    so is your DM box as good as google as all the help is in there ... really!
