    Default AVCHD Playback

I have purchased a Panasonic camcorder which records everything to AVCHD.
Its a weird playback system. It will only let me playback from the SDHC card via usb dongle to my PC or burn to blueray disk and play back thru a blu ray player.
I wish to transfer the files to my PC which i have done, but play them back from a HDD location. So i thought id just need a AVCHD codec of some type for media player etc but im wrong. Have now played with many encoder ad-ons but most play a glitchy picture. When playing back from SDHC card thru USB dongle to PC its chrystal clear and smooth so i know it can be done. I have read most codecs give problems like what im experiancing. I need a stand alone player to install on my PC which just playsback AVCHD files as smooth as my USB Dongle with SDHC card does.

    Why?
So i can store all my new home videos(avchd) on my Media center, But would like a Win32 Application (player) to play them on rather than having to burn them to Blue ray and watch them elswhere in the house?

Any one Know of a Player ?????

My Intel duel core 2.66 keeps plays for 1 sec then freezes when playing back from PC HDD. As i mentioned when playing back thru camera its smooth.
I am using Nero 8 with 3rd party codecs to try playback from PC HDD with no luck. What PC based software player are you useing?

    That i understand.
My PC plays the AVCHD format perfectly when i remove the SD card from the camera and place it in a usb dongle then plug it into my PC, using the software supplied.
The software that came with the camera only alows playback from USB dongle or camera, but also allows you to unload all images to PC HDD.
What im trying to do is use that same PC and instead of reading the data from its usb dongle i want to read it from the HDD.
It should be just as smooth, its the same PC.
What PC based player do you use to playback your AVCHD files?

    Found it.
Played around with everything i could find.
Powerdvd, ffshow, adobe, etc None of them were smooth.
Most codecs i tried are choppy and after doing a lot of reading there are a lot of people with the same probs as it is a new format with little support yet.
CoreAVC does the trick. Played with the trial version and works a treat.
Installing a high end graphics card to reduce load on cpu and will give update.
May be worth buying the full version.

Would be great if they added the AVCHD codec to VLC

    Working Perfect (thanks to hoe).
You need One hellova Kick Ass Machine to play AVCHD.
Minimum of 2.66 duel core and a big arse Video card to keep those processers under 95%.
