    Thanks guys, does anyone know if the provid last 2 digits should be 00 in ppua - as in autoroll key under Cccam?

    Also will single line that gw1 mentioned do same updating as two lines mentioned by enf? Sorry for me being thick, but thks anyway...

    No you dont need 00 in the ppua file,only in Ccam,and possibly Scam from memory.

    The single line will work and works well,but generally with the 2 lines you should originally get pictures quicker due to the additional line having keys already there.

    That's correct.
    • If keys are rolling you only need the HSN/HMK line, the other will come automatically. It doesn't hurt to put the other line (ie ProvID/PMK) in as well though, and assuming it's correct pictures will come up faster.
    • If keys aren't rolling the EMMs that normally supply the ProvID/PMK from the HSN/HMK aren't arriving, which is why you need to supply the ProvID/PMK line manually. The HSN/HMK isn't sufficient, or even required, in that case. A correct manually-entered ProvID/PMK line is all that's required for the plain keys to be generated and will continue to work until the provider either starts rolling keys again or drops a ProvID (stops sending plain key updates for it).

    Can people with DB7025's tell me what they use for Auto Update of these keys.
    I know that newcamd is supposed to work, but I have read that it is not compatible with 7025 as the server.
    I am looking for DB7025 to be server and client to itself.
    Thanks,
    spence

    Took me a few hours over a couple of days but thanks to all who contributed in this thread, heaps of valuable info. Got the details off a goldie using ggedit. I basically followed GW1's tute but I found it easier to use Dreambox Control Centre rather than putty, each to their own I guess. Got pics in about 10mins after.

    A little off topic but sort of related.

    Can Newcamd as a client pointing to a Goldie with a full set of details running in NewCS keep the card going or is NewCS not supporting IRD1 anymore ?

    The reason I ask, is I would like to keep a goldie running with continuosly updated plain keys & share it with NewCS so as other boxes don't have to wait the 20 odd seconds to get a plain key update & will get their pictures immediately when switching to Aurora channels.

    Cheers Tri.

    Is there a newcamd softcam suitable for enigma2? What suitable Softcams are for enigma2 that will work with Aurora?

    I use newcs on a linux pc server with a I2 gamma in the cardreader.
    Clients connect using Cccam and it updates perfectly.
    Not tried with an I1 goldie though.

    Give your Cccam clients an N line to connect to Newcs.

    UPDATE: I replaced the I2 card with goldie I1 and rebooted the server, all pics came up ok with no change to newcs config. Clients are DM 500 running Cccam.

    No...newcamd is E1 only..

    I use scam 3.29 with an irdeto file on E2..

    Its a text file named irdeto with no extension..put it in /var/keys

    format:

    irdeto file
    M: { XX XX XX { aa aa aa aa aa aa aa aa }} Aurora
    H: { YY YY YY { bb bb bb bb bb bb bb bb bb bb } }

    XX = prov ID
    YY = HSN
    aa = PMK
    bb = HMK

    I have found it works well, but it WILL NOT auto update when there is an EMK roll. You have to put the new PMK in yourself. I get my PMK from a d500 using ppua, but you can ask a logger for the EMK and calculate it yourself.

    I have been told that Gbox works as well, but I have never tried it.

    Cheers

    Open notepad, put the info in, and save as irdeto. Delete the automatic .txt that notepad puts in.

    Well...I also have a dm500. I use newcamd and a ppua file to run Aurora. It has the same details as the other one, but it autoupdates the PMK. I just copy that PMK over to the other machine and its up and running again.

    Cheers
