I assume someone would have some info surely...
I know both the DM7000 and DM7020 are getting old however I am looking at adding a DM7020 to my collection.
I have a DM7000 and I have been quite pleased with this unit.
Would a DM7020 be an improvement on the DM7000. I thought these units had power and heating issues?
Would appreciate any feedback or advice.
Many Thanks in advance

The DM7020 units are really good value money , but might be better to consider an HD unit instead and get ready for the future changeover .
The DM7020 is the best of all the E1 boxes period.

7000 is cdk box where as 7020 is OE
7000 images are .img at about 7mb
7020 images are .nfi at about 21mb
7000 multiboots with flashwizard pro full compatibility (backups etc)
7020 has some missing functionality under fwpro
both have USB, HDD and CF
7020 - seems to work the CF and HDD combination better than a 7000
7020 - has RCA outs as well as scart
7020 - has RF outs which 7000 does not
my 7020 did have an issue of resetting CCCam regularly whereas my 7000 serves just fine for months
My 7000 is a great fiddling and meddling box for playing with images
While my 7020 once set-up gets embedded in my home entertainment system and doens't get messed with. this is mainly due to more connectivity options - AMP, TV, RF Distribution system etc.
Overall I would say the move from 7000 to 7020 is evolutionary not revolutionary

adding to the 7020 list;
7020 - Ci modules supported so runs Gamma devices
7020 - rock solid streaming across the LAN and on wifi too
7020 - better diseqc1.2 operation

I agree with above, but HD. It will happen, but my eyes are not HD. lol
I have both 7000 and 7020, the 7020 has a much better front end.
Cheers
It refers to the type of image on these E1 boxes
the cdk boxes use tuxbox where lots of linux commands are provided by the single file (500, 5620 7000)
the OE boxes are more modular and allow package instals (ipkg) like a normal linux installation (600, 7020)
I believe all the E2 boxes are OE (7025, 800, 8000)
not sure where the 500+ fits in the scheme of things and the 100 - thats another story all together
