DM500 clone Remote problems

I bought a DM500 clone from DVBmonkey a while back, the control works but it is very bad ie. I have to be very direct when I want to change channel, go to menu etc. The control has to be on the exact same level as the Dreambox, and it must be pointed very directly at it. Does anyone else have the same problem?

It's because of the remote pickup in the front panel of the DM500 being out of alignment with it's hole.
Pull the box apart & re-align the remote pickup on the front PCB in the front window. While your at it, if you remove the smoked glass window, you can double the distance the remote will work over

If it's not what Fernbay suggested, check the LED placement inside your remote aswell. Make sure it protrudes as far forward as possible.
