Service not found on DM500

Hello Mates,
I have a Weird problem with my DM500.
Sometime, while switching from one channel to the other, it give me black screen with a message Service not found. i can notice that the BER get high. when that happens, i cannot tune to any other channel. all other channels on the three satellite i have give the same error "service not found", sometime, hard reboot (unplug the power) help, some time it doesn't ... i have to keep trying the reboot for a couple of times...

I mostly have these symptoms if i switched to an encrypted channel, by the time the channel open for around 5 seconds and then it freezes with the same error....

I'm not sure if that was clear and I hope someone might be able to help through...

Do you have another power supply you can test with?
I've found flaking issues such as this are due to the power supply.

That's what it sounds like to me.

Another possibility is a flakey LNB starting to fail, which could produce similar symptom. But power supply fault is more likely.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm not having any other PS.
will any 12V, (2A or higher) PS works as long as it have the same connector?

That should be fine as long as the polarity is correct.

will test that tonight... just let you know I'm using a Diseq system and my other 2 FTA receivers functions correctly... one other test i did is by connecting the FTA to this particuar output of the DIseq system and it works flawlessly.

Well, i bought a new PS. and checked the polarity, plugged it in the receiver and it booted up; however, problem still persist... i have connected a FTA Receiver and it's fully functional so i'm sure of the cabling and the LNB functionality....

any suggestion?

flash your dm500 with the software on this link - and try it. If it works, flash your normal software over it and maybe all your problems will go away, I found it did on a few boxes here. Note it is the DMM Engima 1 so no softcams or card readers, just check the "service not found" with it.

changing the channels on the receiver does not help sometime. It mainly happens when going to an encrypted channel. switching back to another channel on another satellite still give me the service not found. sometime everything go balck and the receiver stop responding like i have to reboot it by taking out the power.

any idea on why it's happening or how can i track the problem?

i don.t like to be a smart [ YOU KNOW WHAT } but we all learn by reading more and more post in this excillen forum and if you do that i .m sure that, you will find your problem . Read the GW1 post abuve for start,,,good luck mate
