    Wink TX3600 Help please

    Hi All,

I have an "early" version TX3600 which I programmed up recently. I have noted however it won't TX on 70cms Amateur. Speaking with a friend of mine he said that the "early" editions of these radio's won't do 70cms and stop at 450MHz. My other TX3600 does do 70cms without any issues.

In short, is there any software way of 'helping' this radio down to 70cms or does it require manual tuning to bring it down that low - i.e. tweaking with a test set?

Im hoping it can be software controlled....

Any answers or similar experiences much appreciated!

    Cheers, CC

Default Re tx 3600 on 70 cms

Gday, I have a tx 3800 (fairly recent model with new style mic) and it recieves in the 70 cm band and seems to tx in this range too(I've set the tx at the correct offset but am not keying up the repeater, not sure why?). Looking at the software i cant see any way of achieving what youre trying to do-even in the adjustment section-but would love to do same withmine hope someone can help. cheers zb

The repeater probably needs a tone to access it ziggybyrne, or the radio is putting out minimal power on 70cm, just cause it TX's there does not mean that it is tuned and efficient at those frequencies.
What happens if I press alt + F4?

Thanks for the speedy reply. I know these are specified at 450 to 520 mhz but can they go lower on tx? Also are the tones 50 conventional ctcss or another format. I must have another play around with this radio as ive only just recieved the software and am still becoming familiar with it. thanx zb

Will be CTCSS, lookup the repeater on the web, there will be tone info.
It will probably go lower with a retune and maybe some component changes.
These GME radios are certainly not of commercial quality, all tolerances are very tight, it may go 70cm but I very much doubt that it will do both properly.
