    Default PLi Jade2 + DM600 + VLC

Is anyone using VLC streaming to the PC from the Dm600 running Jade2?

I've tried a few different versions of VLC, from 0.8.6 to 0.9.9, Web-X-Tv won't work, just get a black screen. Tried using VLC on its own by selecting Media-> Open Network then http://<box ip>:31344 still just a black screen.

This worked perfectly on my dm500 but won't work on the dm600.

VLC Streaming to the dm600 from the PC using movie player is working.

    Any ideas?

just tested both vlc and web-x tv from dm600 runing pli jade2
to a wireless (10mb) laptop - no glitches no problems
    vlc version 8.6h
try starting vlc by going to webif and selecting vpid on right hand side
means you cant miss setting ip and port
just a thought - you do have "use zapstream" ticked in settings ??
    Dm500, DM5620, DM600 x2, DM7000 x1, DM7020, DM7025, DM800, VU+DUO and a partridge in a pear tree

Yeah I installed both Mozilla and ActiveX plugins, tried both Firefox and IE, still just a black screen. I did manage to get a picture up a couple times, but it was just a paused still.

I tried using the VPID method and opening it using vlc, still the same problem.
Use Zapstream is checked in the settings also.

I've done some more tests, it may be a network problem. Transfering files onto the HDD of the DM600 seems slow with only 2.3 MB/sec and transferring it back to the PC is even slower at 45 KB/sec.

Its not the network cable or the router, i've plugged a DM500 into the exact same spot in the lounge and it works flawless.

I've now tried Re-Flashing the PLi Jade2 image and still no success.
I used the web interface to do the flash both times now, should I be using dreamup to do it via a serial? maybe there is a problem with the web flash?

Try dropping back to Jade RC ( 18 July 2008 ) for DM600s and flash using dreamup and null modem cable only .

Well, after trying various images, including the Jade RC from 18 July 08 without success it seems that Jonc is right, its a bad clone. I can't complain too much as it was given to me but I would still like streaming working.

Is there a cap fix simiar to the dm500 for the dm600?

I found a flag which can double the throughput of the network, but it doesn't work on the DM600 due to the /proc/net directory not being able to write to.

    echo 1 > /proc/net/dream_mode

is there any way around the write privilages?

I've already tried chmod on the directory with full write permissions.

I have this problem too. Anyone know if the cap mod can be done on the ASIX chip?
