Default Urgent - Need to break into a Nissan GU Patrol

    Hi Everyone,

This is Embrassing! I'm stuck up in the Kimberley (Mitchell plateau) and have lost my key but have a spare in the vehicle. Can someone urgently find out how to break in without breaking a window please??

    thanks guys

    G'Day,
I Know this is a wild chance, but if you bought the vehicle second hand, the previous owner may have wired one on the chassis near the spare tire or around the front chassis.
Won't hurt to look. Saved me before.

    Coat hanger?

Bend tip of wire into right angle.

Push down drivers side between window and felt, about where the door stricker plate is.

Feel for resistance while watching the inner door lock button move.

Once you see movement your on it.

Its either a question of do you push down or hook it from under to move up.

Takes about 30 seconds in most cars with a little practice.

Anyone need anything stolen to order?

One other way i forgot to mention is just ram a screwdriver into the lock with the back of your hand.

Use the screwdriver handle as a key to open the lock after you busted it.

Best used on your back door to minimize the damage to the eyes and ego.

I use to open boot lids this way on cars with no keys.

Make sure your screw driver is not too big, about the width of the original key is about right.

if the lock /unlock knob is near the "b" pillar you can get some strapping they use to tie boxs up its flat and flexible, fold it in half and if you can pull the top of your door frame out poke the strapping in and down over knob then gently pull out and up at the same time ,if you can staple some emery cloth where you intend to pull on the knob this will help grip . or if the lock knob /button is near the interior door handle get a long piece of fencing wire sharpen one end to a point then bend it a little past 90 degrees then same as above poke it between door and pillar ,grab lock and pull back if you put electrical tape or other on pillar will stop scratching also plastic wedge also handy to hold top of door open

Depending on the shape of your door lock button, provided your window is a few mm open, you can try catching your coat hanger around it and pulling it up.

Worked for me after spending a couple hours fishing for the latch within the door in the usual way

If you can't staple emery cloth rub the strap on concrete or some thing to rough it up.

    @Best4less, thats a great idea.

Any thief that saw your lock missing would walk away disappointed thinking he had been beaten to breaking into your car. LOL

You probably leave money inside and the windows down a little and keep a really big dog inside too for entertainment.

This won't help you at the moment but over the years I have trained myself only to lock car doors from the outside with the key. I never "pop" the button and close the door.
With this habit, the only way I can lock the car is if I have the keys in my hand.
    Stops them getting locked inside.

small flathead screw driver pushed as hard into the lock as you can, while keeping the pressure lever the screwdriver downwards, you should be able too see the lock moving up.
when its all the way up just use the handle and it should open, this is depending if you have lock knobs you can see through the window and what year the car is.
works on most older cars and takes about 3 seconds.

Nah, Camel Hobbles, Bell and Nose Peg. Also useful when there is no Lockup.
Those in the Outback would be familiar with them.
