    Default Wanting backlight ideas

Picked up a Boss ME-30 guitar effects pedal, second hand.

They are a pretty good unit but one thing I find annoying is the screen. It is (believe it or not) glow in the dark, and not very bright at that.
I would like to add a backlight to it, so looking for ideas.
    The screen is around 3" x 2".

If the LCD if ully sealed and glued you will have a problem as most of them have an aluminium back or at least metal foil on the back and sides.
In case you remove the LCD from it's frame it should be possible to salvage a Nokia display for the backlight diodes and foils topread the light.
The Nokia displays use light from the sides and the foil spreads it evenly.
I have done it in the past but it is not a nice job as these LED's are 1x1.5mm if you get the big ones...
The other alternative if there is no room for the LED's but you can take the display apart would be to cover the inside back of the panel with glow in that dark pain.
The new types glow all night after getting light for a few seconds.
