Default Help for Tomtom Xl (no SD card slot)

Hi, I have a TT Xl which has a built in hard drive and no SD card slot.
I have tried to update my UK map using keygen V2.1c and V3.1 but fail with error message "navcore ttsystem problem, you need a genuine non patched file."

If I continue I find the map will not work and I get error message "this map will not work with this device"

I have decided that it would be best to first update my navcore to latest available eg version 8.410 and to this end I have found lots of useful instructions. However I come to a dead end because all seem to assume I have an SD card slot so at the point where I am told to insert a blank card I go blank instead!

I assume that it would be just the same if I wipe my internal drive and then install to it rather than blank SD card but I am loath to do this without advice, Should I leave something behind such as system file????

PLEASE any help would be greatly appreciated...

I suggest starting from scratch and installing the latest navcore v8.413.1237

The files and keygen you need can be downloaded from the link in my post on the following thread.

    .

Before installing the SE navcore v4.13 make sure you make a BACKUP of your existing tomtom files as explained in the thread. As there are a few folders and files from your current setup that need to be used in order to get the latest navcore working.

    Hi Greg ,
Thanks for reply but I am still stuck.
I follow your instructions in your post but still fail.

At (2) I ignore ref to SD card and just copy new map to internal memory using kg v3.1c
It automatically creates a DCT for all maps (I do not know exactly what that means)......You then say patch as usual......can you elaborate???
I then continued as far as instruction (5) choose "operate my XL" but all I get from TThome is error message"Problem with map you cannot use this map on this device"
If I look in folder described in instruction (7) I find old navcore :- 8.010.9369 still there.

I do have backup so I can restore to aswas.

More help will be greatly appreciated

I've seen a Tutorial here in this forum for the ONE and everyone was happy with the results - even TTS was working.
Maybe you can search for it???

This is my post that links to the latest navcore files downloads.

The second half of that post contains instructions on how to migrate your favourites Mapsetings.cfg file into the new current version navcore if they are not showing up. And also patch TomTOm home so you can run your tomtom from your pc using TomTom home. Which you can ignore.

You can use the new I just created to help you install the new navcore version
