    Default MP3's not playing

My vehicle has a new Sound5 in dash CD player. The manual says it will play Mp3's. They must be listed.MP3 up to 320 kbs and sampling rate of 44.1 khz.

All the above information fit the files i try and burn. But the CD player does not recognise my discs. Using TDK CD's.

Interesting.......What software are you using to burn with?

Make an audio cd instead of an mp3 cd and see if the disk is recognised then, that will eliminate whether the player doesn't like the media. Although I have never had a problem with TDK though.

    For my car mp3/cd player

I normally just burn cd-r or cd-rw with the following settings

    Write Method: Disk-At-Once
File System: ISO 9660 + Joliet
Character Set: ISO 9660 (standard iso CD-ROM)

not sure about your brand of head unit. Never heard of it. Is it an oem unit supplied with the car or purchased and installed separately?

I think you will find that your problem lies in the way that your Mac is writing the disc structure.

As Greg says, if you burn your disc with these settings:

    Write Method: Disk-At-Once
File System: ISO 9660 + Joliet
Character Set: ISO 9660 (standard iso CD-ROM)

    then it should work.
One thing I do is to always use folders on the CD, and stick the music in them, rather than all files in the root directory. I have seen players that do strange things if all the files are in the root.

Probably unrelated mate but i once had an issue with a deck of mine that would not play any variable bit rate mp3 files.

The deck supported up to 320 but at some point the variable would drop below the decks supported rate causing the disc to not play.
