    Hi Downunder35m,

There are no spaces in the filepath for Easy Activator. The 8040_251 map folder gets an Australia-105.meta.dct file as expected. However, when I put it in the GPS, it says activation code is incorrect. The GPS is happy though with Australia 720 and NZ 725.

re upgrading to 7910, I tried replacing the files, and running the new exe via the Navpath, but I then got the not enough memory error message. Have I done what is required for a 'complete new installation'?

    Thanks heaps for your help.

Not in the file path - check my posting!
In the device ID - no problem if you search for the files ,but if you type in your device ID manually make sure that there are no spaces.

I suggest you try IGO instead : esay to install easy to use and it will save your favourites and settings ,which Tomtom can't do properly on CE4.2
And you won't have the out of memory problem.
Have never installed IGO before but within 30 minutes I had it running on an old Navman ICN520 (without counting the time for the downloads)

Got it to work (I think!)

noob error... the Easy Activator auto chose TT8_Keygen.

Changed it to TT7 and it has now detected on the GPS!

Why would you do that if there is a version for CE5 that will work much better ?

In fact, i have a problem...
TT from the directory navigator works (in 7.450).
TT from the "first" TT7.WCE.42 directory works nice (in 7.450) but i had to rename the directory to TT7 for example because the script "TT7 Navigator" doesn't worked with the original directory name.
Then i replaced TT7.WCE.42 files with the 7910CE42 update, i update the dct too and when i launch TT7, i have a "not enough memory error".
There is a way to solve this

    Default stupid gps unit

Okay, I am a n00b trying to install tomtom on my windows ce 4.2 based unit. Basically, its a little crappy model that a canadian furniture company made, and had destinator software on it, which is now out of business. I have been reading through the thread trying to figure out what the hell i am doing but I can't figure it out, and the more I read, the more confused I become. Basically what I have done, is I pulled the CF card from the gps unit, as it had an internal one, now it boots into winCE4.2 instead of going into destinator. It also has an SD slot as well. If someone can direct a brother where to go, or fire me an email at glove.hand@hotmail.com if you can help me out at all that would be great. Maps from 2006 just aren't cutting it anymore, especially around here, where there has been like massive development.

Me to I've got the exact same problem. Got a Medion PNA240 with a car i bought and am trying to get it up and runing.

I've followed it step by step, and i can't find the map. And when you say INSTALL are you talking about copying it to the SD or do I need an application for this.
And btw thanks for a great post

Maybe this can give you a head start :
Hi, i solved the freezing problem by the following script in mscr file:
RegWriteString("HKLM", "SystemExplorerShell Folders", "My Documents", "Storage Card")
    RegWriteDWord("HKLM", "SystemCurrentControlSetControlPowerTimeo uts" , "ACUserIdle", "00000000")

Hi I've tried to add this to my current TT7 Navigator.mscr but can't seem to get it working. I've been searching around and can't find any info on using this script. Anyone else got this script working?
