Default Outlook Express Dictionary Is French

After my recent computer meltdown I have a nice new clean install and the machine is just as I want it, or so I thought.
I have just discovered that although all my language settings are all set to English the spellcheck dictionary in Outlook Express is French. HUH! How to fix it? Re install? Google a dictionary and copy and paste? I haven't a clue.
The dropdown in the options only offers French, no other choice.

"You no longer have spell checking capabilities in some languages in Outlook Express 6.0 after you install the 2007 Microsoft Office system"

Yes not very good of them.

Another way is to do a custom install with a older office product to get the old dictionary back

Thanks SPLog, went with OE2.1 Spell Checker mentioned in your link after I tried Windows Live mail ... didn't like that at all .. better the devil I know.

I had this problem , I think there is actually another thread here somewhere , anyway I ended un-installing office 2007 tools and re-installed office tools from 2003 office which fixed the problem.
Yes very frustrating!!and none of the third party add in spell checkers are any good

Mozilla ThunderBird looks very similar to OE but is a 100 times better and has up to date English dictionary and is free.

This is the old thread that also has instructions
