Thanks for all the help buddy.

I have fiddled with the old GO730 several times now and actually used maps of Southern Africa, Australia and New Zealand late last year successfully. Problem is now that I cant seem to get the TT to work on navcore 9.026 loaded onto a 4gb SD card with the old operating system on the 730 wiped so it only boots the newest navcore of the SD card (maybe thats my problem). Anyhow I would like to try your full backup you created to see if its just my own error. Problem is all the links that I can find for you backup set seem to be broken on rapidshare's side. Any chance of taking a look or re-posting a working link? Cheers

    Thumbs up

Thanks mate for chucking those links back up again.

Before I went any further with those preconditioned full back ups I actually copied the complete OS of my GF's GO750 and pasted it onto an SD to run on my 730.

After running the keygen and patching it I got it working but for some reason it wouldnt display some of the icons needed throughout the device whilst it was running. Seeming as it was only an experiment I reformatted the SD and downloaded the 9.004fullbackup with the latest NZ and AUS maps etc.

After copying it onto the SD I ran the 3.1Gkeygen (found the 4.1 to run at odds) and boom it works perfectly!

It even ran in TTHome and downloaded all the latest MapShare stuff - despite prompting me that the navcore wasn't authentic ra ra ra.

Anyway I have successfully upgraded the entire 730 to run like a 750 sweet as!

Question for anyone that can help. How do you up load the Bootloader version of Go720?

Am currently running v55120 with 9.004 Navcore and 840.2561 map.

    Cheers

Why do you want to update ??
If all works fine ,just leave the bootloader alone.
Otherwise the bootloader is the file "system" and can be found in the .cab files of the Navcores.

    Default help me DU

To start with I am using a tomtom one v2 regional, purchased way back in 2007
    P N A :TomTom ONE 2nd Edition
    DeviceName:TomTom Go
    BootLoaderVersion:505
    NavCore:6560.7914
    Current Map:
    Map Version No:

dont know why the info tool doesn't give info on the map but lets just say it is an old map
As the old map does not have updated road info and I find myself having to turn right to a non existent road I have decided to update. That spelt trouble to a computer noob, but i persisted to no avail. My TT has a SD card. If i remove the card, I cannot access anything, so I assume that the navcore must lie in the card, and the system must be the card.

Here starts my tale of woes. I have followed instructions to the T and when the keygen tries to patch the system, I get a message navcore ttsystem problem you need a genuine non patched file

To which you had suggested using the easyactivator which I did
It gave me a message saying the map dct was done (or something to that effect) and everything seemed to be in order, but when I switched on the tt it still could not recognise the map

    Could you please help me

There is a backup of the and Navcore available.
The 8.551 is a modified Navcore from the TT Start ,the 9.026 is the latest for the new models.
The 9.026 can only be used in "self" mode on your device due to the lack of memory and the small screen.
    Pasword :
    downunder
Before you do anything : make a proper backup using Windows Explorer - not TT Home!!
Make sure hidden ans system files are shown.
After the backup you simply overwrite the existing files on your SD card and add the latest 840 map for Australia (840.2562).
Activate the map with Keygen 4.1 (make map keys)

Sorry that is not possible as I'm only a normal user here - same as you.
Only a moderator could update this.
but usually the search function is able to find the right postings ,if not - all I can say is sorry....

    No worries!
I know it is hard to find some of the new stuff because we can't update the older postings
Just a hint : I try to update my liks if a user notifies me that a link is no longer working.
I started by using a different link-protector that allow me to update the protected link ,but the actual link in the forum can stay the same.
This however is only valid for some of the links - to find something that was originally posted by me try searching for my postings (you can access that search through my profile) ,sometimes you can find the stuff pretty easy this way.

Usually you don't have to format - deleting the files and folders is enough.
The red X means that the Navcore is not correctly installed.
I don't know which Navcore you tried ,but with a XL you got yourself a very fuzzy device.
There are many XL's out there that only accept the original Navcore.
So you have to try till you find the Navcore that works for you.
Make sure you unpack/install the files and folders of the Navcore in the right place.

    Hi All,

Apologies in advance for the complete newbie questions! I obviously did something wrong along the way.

I just came back from a holiday in NZ, and I purchased a TomTom One 140 IQ Routes edition whilst over there. Now that I'm back in Australia I'm wanting to load the Aussie maps on.

I've downloaded the 2661 maps and copied them to a folder on the root of the TomTom called "Australia". I ran the keygen and tried some of the buttons to activate the maps etc, and noticed a couple of errors. Now when I try to turn on the TomTom it asks which map to use - Australia or New Zealand, but neither of them will work! They both come up with an error saying I can't use them.

Thanks in advance for whoever can take the time to patiently explain it to me!!!

I tried that, but it comes up with:

    "Navcore ttsystem Problem
You need a genuine non-patched file"

Have you used the Keygen I offered together with the maps? Otherwise you would have to add the meata codes for the new maps to the meta.txt.
you can find a pre-patched SE ttsystem for the 8.414 Navcore.

Yeah I was using the one you posted with the maps. I must've done something wrong

In any case, I just downloaded that last link you gave for the pre-patched system, and copied it to the device. Looks like it's all working now!

    THANKS
