    Unhappy DM500s + DISeqC 2 2x1 switch

Has anyone had success with a DISEqC 2.0 switch (2x1) running off a DM500s ??

When I connect each dish/lnb individually I get signal/quality in the high 90 % but when I connect the switch, the signal/quality strength drops to 56% & 50% on both satellites.

I have read somewhere maybe on this forum prior the crash that it is a power deficiency problem. Is it true?

Does anyone have a work around for this issue ?

    cheers

Yep ive setup plenty of 500s with switches. when you plug the switch in are you then changing the sat setup to use diseqc for each dish? You wont have any trouble running a switch, the power issue is for things such as motecks, in which case you need a bigger power pack to run them.
What would you do if your server was stolen or failed beyond repair?

yes, i change the settings to 2 Sat with DISEqC switch AB on the DM500.
My only issue is that the signal strength drops on both sats and I don't get a lock.

I would try using user defined settings and entering the diseqc settings for each manually. It sounds like its not looking at the correct port of the switch or it may be one of those images which does not like diseqc switches much.

Choose user defined settings then press ok on the lnb number, then blue button on the lnb to get extra settings pages. It should tell you on the bottom of the screen when your in that page, or rather it used to, i havnt updated the image on a dreambox for a while so that may have changed a bit i guess.

Do you normally tick "increase voltage" option ?

Thank you cwispy for pointing me in the right direction. It turned out that the lnb settings changed after i chose the initial diseqc switch settings.

All working now, just as well so i can get some sleep.

    cheers mate
