    Default Ness Alarm Systems

I have a NESS KPD8 alarm system installed.
It was installed by the previous owners who had a monitored account with Ness.
When we bought the house we canceled the account and the unit has virtually sat idle for 2 years.
There is a single control panel at the front door, a control box in the hall closet and four room sensors throughout the house.

Yes I know it's a Cheap and nasty, but it's all I've got for now.

Problem is two LED's are turned ON on the control panel, they are Battery and MEMORY.
When I rang NESS they advised a technician would need to come out and service the unit at a cost to me of minimum $130.00 plus plus plus if more than 1/2 an hour was involved.

I don't know diddly about these things but it occurs to me that it's probably nothing more that some sort of command sequence entered at the control panel.
If my thoughts are correct can someone help out with the correct command sequence, If not is there any one in the Werribee VIC area who can do it cheaper??

    Any help would be appreciated.

Ohhhh and BTW - I understand that in the past this alarm dialed a control center if there was a break in, can the unit be programmed to dial my mobile or any other number??

    thanks again.

    5000? or is it a D8?

Battery light flashing means the battery needs to be changed

memory light means there are some alarms in the memory and need to be cleared.

$130 is pretty decent for a callout and battery.

Yes it can dial a mobile, is there still a working line at the panel? Altho i hate panels exp older ones dialing mobiles.

Press "memory enter enter" to clear the memory light
The Mains & Battery lights should be solid, if either is flashing there is a fault.

if you use the system i would get a service done, just to ensure everything is working OK.

What area u live in ?
