Default Nautical charts for Port Phillip bay

I'm looking for some some nautical charts (if possible up to date) for Port Phillip bay.
Something with the marina's , markers and exclusion zones would be nice
    Tomtom GO730 ,Navcore 9.004 ,Bootloader 5.5256 ,Map :Australia 845.2661
ttmaps and Tomplayer on 16GB SDHC class6

I think I have a good map calibrated for use in Oziexplorer. Is that something you can use?

    That would be perfect !
I would like to add that to the collection of maps for ttmaps.
Then everyone can use the Tomtom on the water too
Mybe it is possible to cover all Australian waters in the future ,or at least the most interesting ones.

DownUnder, I'm working on Port Phillip Bay now. Western Port is ready to go, let me know what you think.

Anyone with other maps to upload see the same link.

    Hi all!

I bought a TomTom specifically for use on my boat hoping to find/create a suitable map for ttmaps.

It's exciting to see that someone else was working on exactly the same thing but I cant see that it was ever created.

Is there a Port Phillip / Western Port bay map available for ttmaps (.ecw format)? Did you make any progress Downunder35 or can you make any suggestions as to how I might go about creating one?

    Cheers!

    Hi 242gtr

I tried, but gave up trying to convert the Western Port and Port Phillip maps to .ecw for you.
Tried to convert them from both .ozfx3 and the .bmp and .map files I originally made before converting them to .ozfx3, I tried several .ecw conversion tools I found on the web, but nothing seemed to work. Kept getting errors stating missing this and missing that!

I downloaded a .ecw of Australia that worked well with my 730 GO about a year ago, couldn't find the map on my pc and I sold the 730 GO about 6 Months ago! Nearly an hour searching for the torrent and I found it, I remember there being a lot more people seeding it a year ago though! Good luck with it, it might take a while!

It doesn't have depth markers or anything, but it's the best I could find.

And sorry in advance for this, but I just can't resist the urge to hang shit on you just a little bit!

"I bought a TomTom specifically for use on my boat" Sorry, but a TomTom on a boat is like a screen door on a submarine! A TomTom's only practical use is On Road Navigation. ttmaps should have been considered the (flavourless) icing on the cake.
OziExplorerCE installed on a $50 ALDI GPS would have been a far superior choice than a TomTom with ttmaps, and cheaper too!
iGO installed on the same ALDI GPS would have given much better On Road Navigation than any TomTom could offer as well.

I'll keep trying with the .ecw conversion for you, I'll do more research tomorrow to see where I'm going wrong with it. (I hate admitting defeat!)
If it does get the better of me, I'll have another, more thorough look for the Australia.ecw on my backup drives and if I find it I'll upload it to save you the week it'll take for that torrent!

    242gtr

    Here's the Australia.ecw

    password: antboy1979

I couldn't find it on my PC or backup drives, I actually found it on a 2GB SD that was in a coffee cup full of old memory cards! I found it by chance by checking the card before formatting it to put OziExplorerCE on it for a mate!!!

How's that for chance? Had I found that map a month ago, I would have just deleted it!

    @AntBoy1979!
Did you have Newcastle port map.zip for Oziexplore CE?

I'm in the process of converting and calibrating the whole lot. I do 1 every day or so, when I get the time.
Which were you after? 7C front or back?
Let me know and I'll get onto it next.

Hello people. I found this thread and I know it's rather dated but I have a China GPS running WinCE 5.0 with a small 4X3 screen running I-Go and Tomtom and Route 66 off a flash card and was wondering if anyone could help me out. It's related to this thread. I want to use this GPS device with my boat out on the bay but the maps don't suit. I saw that you can get a ARM CPU version of Oziexplorer but I would need maps to suit. If anyone knows where I can get some please let me know. I'm going to mainly use my boat on Port Phillip and maybe some inland lakes like Eildon.

    Edit to my previous post.

I managed to get Oziexplorer for ARM processor working but the map for Australia I have is .ecw file but the world default map is in .ozfx3 format.

Anyone know how to convert or get a Melbourne map in .ozfx3 format? - I found the conversion program on the OziExplorer site to do this..

Going to give it a test..
