What do you mean by "syncing" ??
The Go730 is no Windows device therefore no active sync anyway!
You have to copy the files onto the unit or the SD card - depending on what you are using.
Hi all,
New here!
I just purchased a tt 730 anf after perusing this amazing forum of yours i downloaded a few voices into my TT voices folder ( ican see them when i access my pc) but for some reason they are not loading on my device when syncing!!!

I apologise, i am not that savvy with these things.......
If i go into my computer and into the TomTom file, under voices i can see where i have placed the files, however i pair/sync/connect the tt730 via usb to TomTom home (checking for updates etc!!) and then access "voice preferences" then "change voice" but the files i have downloaded to my pc are not showing on the device (tt730) the only voices that i can activate are the default voices that came with the unit, its starnge, i have no trouble with pics and mp3 (transferring from pc to tomtom).....
Am i doing something wrong???

Well if you downloaded voices for your Tomtom you have to copy them manually (using Windows Explorer) to your device int the folder "voices".
Only voices you select in Tomtom Home can be transfered automaically to your device.
If connected to your PC the Tomtom shows up with a drive letter in the Windows Explorer , copy the voice files you like from your PC into the folder "voices" (on the drive letter of your Tomtom)

This is strange,
I can see them (the voice files) in my voices folder on my PC, but i can not get them on my device (tt730) even when connected to tt home and updates have installed, i am going into change voice and the only examples i can see are the default voices that came with the device, what am i doing wrong!
Thanks again,
B
When you try to change the voice on your tomtom device, does it ask you if you want to use the same language? If it does, select "No" and keep skipping until you see voices you have downloaded.
Fro,
No it does not ask anything about changing languages, the order i am doing things (dont forget, i can see the voice files i have downloaded to my device in the voice folder under tomtom(k) on my PC)
* CHANGE PREFERENCES
* VOICE PREFERENCES
* CHANGE VOICE
And them my options are all the default voices Jane,Kate,Simon,Tim and then onto the deutsch and Espanol, Italiano etc voices!!!
Not sure what i am doing wrong!
Thanks,
B

Maybe, the voices are in the wrong format, i got them off a link on this site, so who knows, does anyone have access to any third party voices that i can try, might solve the problem.
Thanks in advance,
B
What voices are you using?
If they are from this site you could give a link to posting please?
I'd like to check it...

My apologies downunder, i picked up the link from another site, I will pm you the link now.
Sorry for any confusion.
B
is my link and the voices will work by copying the files with the same number into your voices folder a list is included in the textfile.
PW : downunder
Some vioces only have to files *.vif and *.chk ,some have 3 - *.vif ,*.chk ,*.bmp
Copy all files with the corresponding numbers into your voices folder.
If you still have problems check the *.vif with a text editor and correct the number or the file inside - some are a bit messed up but usually work without problem.
Don't copy all files - start with a few ,check the vif files and test them if it is working go for all you need.
