how do the buttons on the fobs look like, and how many buttons?
are they white, or black and green?
Hi all, Hows it going?
First time poster but have done a bit of lurking, so I'm pretty confident someone will be able to help me!
My keys were stolen (along with a whole bunch of other stuff, including my address!) while I was working last night, and on it I had my Keyfob for my home alarm.
I need to delete the stolen keyfob from the alarm's brain,,, so this may mean I need to delete all the keyfobs and reinstate the ones I still have... (I had three, now I have 2...)
I'm not totally sure what sort of alarm it is, because there is so much conflicting information (partially due to so much rebranding going on.) So, here is the details...
The keypad: RAC Security Sentry 8000
The Box on the wall : Hills Reliance R12
The Board in the Box on the wall: NX-6v2 GE Security
The Chip on the Board in the Box on the wall: NX12-v2 V1.00
The keypad is an LED type and does not have an LCD sceen
Also it has the little Activor wireless keyfob reciever box attached by 3 wires to the keypad screw terminals on the main board.
Can anyone help me with this? Do I need the installer code? I have the master code... and I may have the installer code....
I've read the supplied user manual. And as many NX series user and installer manuals as I've been able to find... but can't find much info about the keyfobs...
Thanks in advance... mark

They are black with a silver fascia, and they have a little black sliding bit which can slide over and protect the buttons. There are 4 buttons on the keyfob which are also silver. They feel quite solid.
Hi there
Yes, these are the new type that have now replace the older one that were refered to earlier.
You will need the installer code and it will delete them all. Might be a bit much for a diy er though. It's not hard, just can't post that sort of information.
surely deleting a stolen keyfob should be an operation available to the end user
I have access to the receiver and I assume the buttons are under the cover which says OPEN HERE. The instructions I have for the receiver (which I found in a (sealed) cardboard box inside the Box on the Wall which also has some sort of extra wireless card NX408E) say to refer to the installation manual of the NX 12 for programming details, but the installation manual for the nx 12 doesnt seem to have much information about the keyfobs at all.
Do I really need a sob story to get some help here? I've just found out i wont be paid for the last 4 months work i've done as the company I was working for has declared bankruptcy. This means not only am I broke, but I'm well and truly in the red. My car gets it's windows smashed and gets gutted, all my business files and tools and everything gone, I'm freelance so rely on my vehicle to make a living. I had a nightmare of a time getting a 24 hour locksmith to change my house locks at 3AM this morning which set me back over $500 which I dont have. Give a guy a break!
It would be hard to know what the new installer code is it would most likely depend on who installed the system, It may still be the default code but what Paul is saying is you just can't make it be know, The installer code isn't something to be given out as it allows someone to make any change within a system. All alarm installers have to pass a police clearance, before they can work on a system. Your system been a led keypad makes it very easy to make a error in the programming and thus having to have the systems defaulted and reprogrammed from scratch.
I havn't worked on that type of panel and wouldn't know the codes or programming of it.
Best to call the installing company,
Can you disarm/arm from a keypad?
If so you maybe able to just remove the wires from the receiver to the panel, disabling the fobs.
Do you have any other wireless devices? Or is the reciever purely for the keyfobs?
You may get away without the installer code. If you follow the instruction to delete all and reprogram it could just work. You need to use the installer code to re-initialise the receiver. Cant remember if deleting the fobs also deletes the receiver. Hopefully you also have a user code so you can still use the system. if you have the instructions for the receiver, just delete them all and use a code until you can reprogram them yourself, or get a tech out. At least that way nobody can use the fob to gain access
well, you can unplug the receiver if your concerned someone will use the remote, but you still need the installer code to programme the receiver out of the system.
I would just wait a bit and get a techo dude, its going to be more heartache then it's worth
At the end of the day, we all have our problems. thats life!......
There are a lot of variations of that key fob, some are specific to particular brands, like reliance or edm(bosch). They also come in a generic type that links via a relay to control panels via keyswitch programming. I would say by the housing, that this a dedicated unit for NX and as such will only be programmed via install programming the same (or similar to) user codes.
Your only alternative if you are not a security tech, is to call one!
In the mean time, disconnect the unit from the panel,(as mentioned before) it shouldn't upset the panel, and the missing unit will not work (niether will yours!) hope your code works.
What area are you in, as some one here may be able to help?
It is an NX part. Try and google the instructions for it. The programming is quite easy and because the receiver is already enrolled, deleting or adding new fobs should be able to be achieved without the installer code. Find the model name and I may be able to send you the instructions for it.
you dont need the installer code to delete those fobs.
you cannot delete any individual fob. must delete all, and then reprogram the fobs you have.
you have to press and hold prog button to delete all fobs.
then press prog button and press button of fob, to reprogram.
but dont recall which button.
will try search for manual tomorow.
do you have the manual for that keyfob kit?
Activor remote info
See, you got there in the end.
Shows a lot of people had no idea.
